]]>Great piece. Was thinking of this very subject after I heard a radio commercial enticing folks to spend their refund and it would be matched.
We were guilty of that in our early years of marriage, then learned that if we were going to get a refund, we’d invest some and use the rest to cover Christmas costs.
One of my bosses told me, “A refund is just the repayment of money that you loaned the government at no interest.”
From then on I tried not to have a refund, which allowed us to invest more.
