Connecting with others in the community through blog comments and forums was how I gained my first readers. You can’t just blog and expect others to find you or to care- you need to reach out. It definitely takes a lot of time and effort to maintain a blog, but it’s a fun hobby! The few times that I’ve made money from it have been the icing on the cake.

Look into either MailChimp or Aweber. They both have great templates to choose from so it takes minimal customizing, and there are a lot of helpful tutorials out there that will guide you through getting it set up.
