A small portion of that money that would have been spent on a big wedding went instead to a great holiday / honeymoon in Hawaii!

We kept our wedding pretty inexpensive because we were only 23 years old at the time.  One other tip is to print your own invitations – so much cheaper and most of them are just going to end up in the garbage anyways.
