I would also add that building your brand can revolve around acting with humility, kindness, generosity and dedication in a work setting (office or remote) is one of the best ways to enhance your brand. Each time you interact with someone via phone, email, Skype, etc, you are leaving an impression. Act like a jerk? You will be seen as one. Act with understanding and with a cool head in a tough situation? You will be seen as an asset to your company or those you deal with.
