We have just rediscovered our local library as they recently moved into a larger building (the old one was about the size of a double-wide trailer). And our oldest child is two and absolutely loves books.

Another perk of owning a library card is that we get access to free ebooks and audiobooks so we don’t have to buy books we only plan on reading once that aren’t in our library catalog.

These are all great ideas Colin.

Part of what I like about no-spend challenges is that when you do start spending money again you appreciate it more. We forget how lucky we are. Not spending for a week or a month helps you “reset”. It gives you a new perspective. Once you start spending money again you appreciate each purchase even more.

We have so much tubberware at my house from meal planning, I don’t remember if we have seen the dog in a few days….But meal planning is definitely one of those things that is worth the effort. My wife and I cut our meal costs down about 60% from our time in college just by taking the time to plan out our meals, and skipping the line for McDonald’s.

In reply to Jason Butler. I just finished the Spanish language tree on Duolingo a few weeks ago! I've gotten a lot better at being able to read Spanish. I'm glad I took it up and started doing it.

Interesting list, I am spending a staycation in town and apart swimming pool I discovered alot of interesting and free events in town, go in the library offers the opportunity to stay fresh (thanks air conditioning) and attend interesting events plus borrow “new” books for free…I’m completely agree with all the post:D
