My wife and I use coupons, look for deals, and generally try to get the best price on things we buy. There are a number of websites we use that help us save money. I thought others would find these websites of value as well, so in a two-post series I will be highlighting websites that help you save money. Today I share the first five.

There are countless websites that have money-saving tips, but these sites are specifically focused on saving you money. In particular, they focus on coupons, online discount codes, deals, freebies, etc. So this is not to say that there aren’t other websites sharing great tips that save you money, but these sites are concentrated solely on that topic.

1) Pocket Your Dollars

Pocket Your Dollars is a couponing and deals site run by Carrie Rocha. This website inspired my wife to start couponing, and we use her shopping lists on a weekly basis. The shopping lists are put together by Carrie and her team and they find the best deals at each store (i.e. Target, Cub, etc.). Using these alone can save you a ton of time (and money) on groceries and other products.

Carrie’s new book, Pocket Your Dollars came out just a few months ago and as of this post has an overall 4.7 out of 5 star review from seventy reviewers.

2) Saving Cents with Sense

Saving Cents with Sense was started by Melissa Hurst in 2009 and has since grown to include printable coupons, online deals, and more. I receive their daily email and on a regular day it’s filled with money-saving deals and freebies.

Probably my favorite part of Saving Cents with Sense is the sheer volume of content that they have on their site; it seems like every single day there are 20+ new deals, freebies, or coupons posted.

3) Coupons.com

We use coupons.com on a weekly basis and save hundreds of dollars a year from their printable coupons. They have a great user interface where you can “clip” the coupons you want and then print them when you’re done. Coupons are added constantly and they have other great resources such as coupon codes and money-saving tips on their blog.

4) BradsDeals

BradsDeals was started all the way back in 2001 by Brad Wilson. Every single day, BradsDeals posts 10 or so deals on various products. My favorite feature of BradsDeals is the daily deals email. The nice thing is it takes literally less than a minute to scan the daily deals email, and if there is nothing I’m interested in I simply delete it. Very little time investment and lots of potential savings.

Just last weekend BradsDeals had a deal for a Neatfreak Double Armoire, 72″ Uptown with Sliding Door. We have needed some extra clothes storage space for a while now, and this deal was too good to pass up. It essentially was priced down from $249 to $119.99 with free shipping. Even better, I had received a $50 Macy’s gift card from my Discover cash back rewards card, so I really only had to pay about $70 out of pocket. This is why I subscribe to BradsDeals.

5) Thrifty Jinxy

Chrysa Duran is the owner of Thrifty Jinxy, another deal/coupon/giveaway site that I have used on many occasions. I particularly enjoy following Thrifty Jixy on Twitter, as she is constantly tweeting out deals. Last weekend I went to Jamba Juice with my wife and saved over 50% off the cost of our smoothies thanks to a printable coupon she posted. This was part of a bigger restaurant coupon/deal roundup post that she published.

____________

Hopefully you find these websites useful if you are trying to save money. They certainly spend a lot of time and effort finding deals, coupons, discount codes, and freebies for you to take advantage of.

I’ve only heard of #3. If I am buying something online then I generally use a site like Retailmenot. If I don’t use that site, I just use Google to find a discount.

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@FrugalRules These websites are not just for saving money online.  Carrie’s site we use to match up coupons before getting groceries and most of the others (besides bradsdeals) have a lot of brick-and-mortar coupons.

  2. SenseofCents says

I need to check these out! Especially Saving Cents with Sense since we obviously have similar titles :)

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@SenseofCents Haha yes sometimes I even used to get the sites mixed up!

  3. Holly at ClubThrifty says

Good list!  I occasionally use coupons.com!

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@Holly at ClubThrifty Coupons.com is a great site!

  4. KyleJames1 says

Good list. I have been a fan of Brads Deals for a long time now. His staff seems to really turn up some great deals, especially on electronics.

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@KyleJames1 I’ve only been getting them for a few months now, but I definitely enjoy getting the email each day.  If you plan on buying something anyway you just might get lucky and a deal will show up.  Saved us about $150 on the wardrobe closet.

  5. RobaSorbo says

My wife is constantly finding a lot of deals on hip2save.com, but I’ll see if she’s ever heard of these other ones.

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@RobaSorbo Never heard of hip2save.com, I’ll have to take a look.  Thanks for sharing!

  6. TacklingOurDebt says

Great list! I can’t believe the number of websites that have been created just over the past few years that offer tons of coupons as well as go through the grocery store flyers each week and match the sales with available coupons. We have a number of them in Canada as well and they all seem to be doing very well.

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@TacklingOurDebt Yeah there are a lot of sites that have taken the deals/coupons to a whole other level.  Provides a lot of value in the form of saved time and money for the rest of us!  I would never enter the niche because there are already so many people doing such great jobs at it.

  7. ayoungpro says

Thanks for the list! I’ve never heard of any of these so I’ll have to check them out.

  8. DebtRoundUp says

Thanks for sharing these resources DC.  I have used coupons.com before, but didn’t know about these.

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@DebtRoundUp And there’s more coming next week ;)

  9. AverageJoeMoney says

Sweet resources list, DC. If this is Part 1, how many total will there be? Based on your track record of finding stuff…about 30?

    • DC @ Young Adult Money says

@AverageJoeMoney Haha! Probably just another five, but maybe I’ll have a part 3 and 4 down the road? ;)

  10. JustinatTheFrugalPath says

Out of all of these, I’ve only used Coupons.com. I’ll have to check out some of the others. Thanks for the info DC.

  11. aeverpean says

I recently found an amazing website that has saved me hundreds of dollars, http://www.smartshopperusa.com is awesome at helping you put together a grocery shopping list, and getting in and out of the grocery store, while saving money.

  12. moeyshay says

I’ve used coupons.com many times for printing coupons.  I never knew they also offered money saving tips.  I ‘ll have to check it out, as well as the other sites mentioned here.  Thanks for the useful info!
